Origin expansion at Invergordon

Origin Fertilisers is re-developing and expanding its Invergordon facility. The re-development includes warehousing for an additional 5,000 tonnes of bulk raw material, along with an undercover bagged store for finished product. The existing blending and bagging plant will be replaced with the latest modern equipment, increasing daily capacity to meet peak seasonal demands as well as being able to cover an increased geographic area.

Building work will begin in October, and is expected to be fully completed by the end of January prior to the start of the spring season. Customer disruption will be kept to a minimum, as Origin will deliver fertiliser from its two other Scottish sites at Montrose and Ayr during the re-development.

Said Steve McHarg, Origin’s Commercial Director: “This substantial investment in Invergordon underpins our continued commitment to service the local farming community with prescription fertiliser solutions to match crop nutrient requirements and thereby help to maximise each crops potential.

“As well as production investment, Origin will continue to invest in its extensive range with product development and capability to support local farming and agri-businesses across Scotland.”map
