Origin Fertilisers now offering two leading UK produced stabilised nitrogen fertilisers

Farmers considering their nitrogen fertiliser regime for 2018 should look at all the options available to them.

The market for stabilised nitrogen fertilisers has developed over the last five years, with many farmers seeing the benefits in their crops and bank balance.

Origin Fertilisers offers a choice of two leading stabilised nitrogen fertilisers, produced locally in their UK plants:

Origin Enhanced Nitrogen (OEN)origin_enhanced_n

A 46% nitrogen, with dual-action protection against both volatilisation and nitrification.

Koch Advanced Nitrogen® (KAN) fertiliser 9270_KaN_logomark_Agrotain_COL

A 46% nitrogen, powered by Agrotain®, proven to be the most effective urease inhibitor on the market in minimising volatilisation.

More than 5 years of independent UK trials have proven both brands to be as consistently reliable in terms of crop yield and quality as ammonium nitrate.

On grass, OEN trials have shown to increase dry matter yield by an average of 3%. A three-year trial by government agencies in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland showed that switching to KAN would reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 73% when compared to nitrate-based fertilisers.

Equally as important, both OEN and KAN have successfully grown high quality crops on thousands of commercial farms from John O’Groats to Lands End.

Complementing both OEN and KAN are a range of nitrogen sulphur grades. OEN is also available in a wide range of tillage and grass NPKs.

As well as stabilised nitrogen, Origin Fertilisers offers a full traditional nitrogen range including CAN, ammonium nitrate and liquid fertiliser.

With farmers collectively spending over £1 billion on fertiliser, potential cost savings where yield and quality are not compromised are well worth considering. OEN and KAN offer a lower cost per kg of nitrogen compared to AN, and as they are 33% more concentrated also give an average 7% saving in handling and spreading costs.
